P46 and a second job??
I have recently started a second job at Domino’s Pizza for a bit of extra cash. I asked about filling in a P46, and was told by the manager that I wouldn’t need to do one because the tax is the same with or without one, and that if i did fill one in then it would make dominos my main job with the lower tax code, and put the higher tax code on my full-time monday-friday job. Is this correct??
No. Your main job it the one that you work at Mon- Fri… and they will still retain your tax code. However, you are likely to get a BR code at Domino Pizza. (Base Rate or Taxed on everything you earn at Domino), The man from Domino is incorrect…. But… Check with the local tax office… maybe your work is not being registered with the Revenue… in which case.. you would still be liable to pay the additional tax.
